- History
AMA Freight started as a Hanseatic freight forwarding company and is today part of an international logistics network with offices in Europe and Asia and agents in more than 160 countries.
What has never changed is our mindset: we create connections – between continents, people and ideas.
More than 30 years ago, Arend Fock founded AMA Freight in Hamburg with the ambition to combine Hanseatic reliability with an international outlook.
From day one, our focus has been clear: transparent processes, personal service and dependable logistics solutions.
Shortly after our foundation, we took our first major expansion step and opened our own offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and London.
This laid the foundation for our global network and enabled direct access to international markets – allowing us to provide stable transport solutions worldwide.
With the establishment of our subsidiary SCS Supply Chain Solutions in 1999, we expanded our service portfolio to include specialized supply chain services.
Today, we offer integrated logistics solutions – from transport and warehousing to individual process optimization across the entire supply chain.
In 2005, we established our own air freight division and opened new offices in Kyiv and Odesa.
This significantly expanded our global air freight capabilities while strengthening our presence in Eastern Europe – an important milestone for our international network.
A few years later, we further expanded our network in South China and opened additional offices in Hong Kong and Guangzhou.
These locations strengthen our operational capabilities in one of the world’s most important trading and manufacturing regions.
To further strengthen our presence in Southeast Asia, we opened new offices in Vietnam and Indonesia.
This expansion reinforces our footprint in one of the fastest-growing economic regions in the world and enables us to provide even more comprehensive solutions in international trade.
